Howie was born on 22th August 1973 at 3.00 a.m. in Orlando, Florida / USA.
Howard has one brother - John(32) and three sisters: Pollyanna (33), Caroline (has died at 12th September'98 at the age of 37), Angie (37).
Howie's hobbies: designer clothes, party, clubbing, working out, acting, singing, dancing, knee-skiing, weight lifting, swimming, tennis, racket ball, music.
Howie was only 3 years old when he jumped up his grandma's bed and started to sing Babyface!
He has a cat called Christopher and a doggie called Oscar.
Howie looks at himself as at somebody really softie. He says: "I love hugs and kisses. I think it's because I grew up in a big family. Even now I grab my mom and give her kisses all over her cheeks and she's like, 'Oh Howard, pleeeease !' When I'm with a girl, I love her to give me hugs - it really touches my heart."
Howie D collects waistcoats! He's got about 40 at home and his favourite is coloured red and mustard.
Sweet D. nearly didn't make it into the Backstreet Boys, 'cause the management company lost his address!
Howie's sister - Angie first introduced him to the wonderful world of show business, 'cause she also was involved in the entertainment.
One of the first things that Howard did, when Backstreet Boys have earned some money, was to have central heating installed in his house. He said: "It's about 100 years old and has nice hardwood floors and stuff, but it had no central heating".
Howie secured a small part in "Parenthood" alongside Steve Martin and he appeared also in "Cop".
In school he was the best in math.
Howie D recently lost his 37 years old sister Caroline to the disease lupus. Howie has requested that instead of cards and gifts - fans make a donation to the fundation he has established. In his statement Howie says: "Hopefully donations will help the study of this disease so that no other family will have to suffer a loss such as ours." D. has ancestors from Puerto Rico and Ireland, but he doesn't speak Spanish at home, although he speaks it fluently.

Who's the most likely to loose his luggage on a trip to Europe? Backstreet Boys say it's Howie, who has many occasions to arrive at his destination only with the clothes on his back.
Howie runs around video taping everything and everybody when they're on tour.

Howie's sister - Pollyanna - also starts to sing. Now she's working on her premiere album with Ricky Martin's producent K.C.Porter in New York and Miami. It'll be pop and Latin music. Howie has written also a couple of songs for Pollyanna. Like she said: "He is very proud of me and helps me, how he can." The first Pollyanna's single should come out in summer and album in autumn.
