Nick was born on 28 th January 1980 at 2.00 a.m. in Jamestown, New York / USA.
He, A.J. and Howie were first Backstreet Boys.
Nick starred in a school production of "Phantom Of The Opera" when he was just seven. He also had a small role in "Edward Scissorhands" film, which starred Johnny Depp. Nick said: "I was so far in the background that you can't tell it's me. I was in the scene where Edward looks out of the window. For a split second he sees some kids playing - one of them was me."
Nick hates flying and would never go in a helicopter.
He's really close with Frick. Brian is like a big brother for him.

On 28th November came out in the US a book called "The Heart And Soul Of Nick Carter " written by Jane Carter. Nick's mother said, that book will tell us about the road her son to the fame. On the cover she wrote: "No matter how many records my son sells or how many awards he wins, he'll always be Nick to me. Let me tell you the story of my Backstreet Boy... with lots and lots of family-album photos and secrets only a mother knows...With a very special introduction by Nick Carter." At the beginning of 1999 this book should be on the market in Germany. It has 182 pages, includes 32 pages of photos.

Nick bought himself a house in Tampa. In the garage he got a black Prowler, dining room is white with pastel chairs and a glass case filled with Beanie Babies. In his bedroom the white bed is flanked by round neon sculptures, reflected by the mirror behind the bed. To the right is a big clear-plastic palm tree filled with water and little orange bubbles. To the left is an abstract neon figure, kind of "Miami Vice".
During Backstreet Boys' new tour in Germany girls, who were at their concerts in Frankurt (4.06.99) and Cologne (7.06.99) saw that Nick got now 2 tatoos - one of them is a dolphin.
