ABOUT THE KOOKOO HUNTER

My real name is Diane but my four kids just call me Mom. Hubby calls me hey you!

We were a military family up until 1995 when my hubby retired from Army active duty. We had been living in Georgia since 1990. We decided we needed a change of scenery from the rain so we packed our bags and moved to the desert of Southern California (not to Beverly Hills, either!)

I first logged on to the Internet in January 1998 and had some fears about doing it to begin with.

I wanted to get an e-mail address, but couldn't come up with a good name and I didn't really want to use my real name. My oldest daughter told me I was nuts for wanting to surf the net, so she named me KooKoo and I was on my way.

I surfed the net for a couple of months just checking everything out. The first place I found was the chat rooms. Someone there told me you create a homepage on the net. This person told me it was the easiest thing in the world to do.

I was off and running. I created my first homepage in Angelfire in April 1998.

Next came the creation of Brownie Dog's Home in the Petsburgh community in June of 1998. This home was created for the purpose of memorializing the pets that have graced my life since I hit the age of 18.

I became a Community Leader on October 9, 1998 when I graduated from CL training in Petsburgh.
I started to get a little bit restless and was looking for a change of scenery...I call it my wandering foot starting to get the itch to start looking for some adventure. This very same friend told me that Baja was just that type of place where I could scratch that itch.

I moved in to my new home in Baja/Mesa on February 19, 1999 and started on my quest looking for the rare and elusive KooKoo Bird.

My next step was to apply in Baja as a Community Leader, which I did on February 20, 1998 and lucky for me, I got accepted.

I guess they like me here!!! Look what I got from my Co-Liaison!!
