My picture book story (18)
(March 2002)

Vacuum-cleaning Saturday morning

So here's the new vac Dorian bought mom for Women's Day...   ...it looks pretty spiffy to me, nice color, just praying it won't hum like the old one.

Watching mom closely and keeping my fingers crossed...   ...to make sure she presses the right button.

Every time a vac is switched on my first reaction is to rush under the table. Oh dear.   Just as I suspected: hoover-buzz-wise I can't tell the difference from the old one. Horrendous, that is.

Mom trying to raise my spirits with a plastic bottle for me to chomp on it.   And all this hassle just because of MY hair! Well, it's also the dust, I suppose :)

You know something? This house cleaning chore gives me mixed feelings: that guilty conscience thing, plus the dilemma over why dad does the photographing and mom does the vacuum-cleaning and not vice-versa. Got to be the fact that mom ain't that good at picture taking...
