10W Audio Amplifier

Introduction

This is a very simple circuit picked up from the TDA2003 datasheet. It can give an amplification of about 40dB.

Circuit

Notes

Power Supply: Should be able to supply upto 1.5A. I had a 1A supply and it worked really well.

Speakers: 4 Ohm is better than 8 Ohm but even that isn't bad. I used an 8 Ohm, 10W, 90mm dia speaker.

Usage: This can be used to amplify sound from various sources such as: Headphone level sources (walkman, PC etc). It provides enough amplification to make a signal from a speaker used as a mic. audible. (Handy for making intercoms)

Care must be taken while making this. The input wires MUST be shielded. TDA2003 MUST be placed on a heatsink.

Substitutes to TDA2003: TDA2002, LM386, NTE1232 and many others. Check out www.datasheetcatalog.com and of course, Google;)
