Message from the President
By Bea Briggs, CTMRecently I sat down
to relax with a cup of coffee and picked up a
bulletin titled "Communication
Briefings." As I read articles including
"What it Takes To Get Promoted,"
"Settling That Disagreement," and
"Avoid Negatives and Absolutes," I kept
thinking of Toastmasters.
Why Toastmasters? Because, to each bit of
advice the author gave, I was adding, "and
join Toastmasters!" I'm sure you'll agree,
the confidence we gain through Toastmasters
experience gives us a much better chance of being
able to say what needs to be said - the way it
needs to be said - when it needs to be said. And
always with a positive "spin." Lucky
us, for discovering Toastmasters!
Looking for a motivational boost? This March
issue may contain the motivation you're looking
for - three contest opportunities! Two to help us
increase our own Toastmaster speaking experience,
and one to share the benefits of Toastmasters by
inviting others to become members. Toastmaster
contests are better than Publisher's Clearing
House because in Toastmasters, entering is
winning!

Maximize your
motivation!
From Toastmaster Magazine, January
Tip #1: Write your limiting
belief (about yourself) in a sentence. Then,
write a counter statement that expresses what
you'd rather think about yourself. Make the
counter statement into a positive affirmation.
Put the positive affirmation on a note card and
carry it with you. Memorize the positive
affirmation and say it several times a day, until
it seems familiar and true.
Thanks to Bea Briggs for the
great tip!

Club climate report for Azteca!
By Bea Briggs, CTMTuesday morning,
February 24th, the weather outside was rainy and
cold, but according to the official TI Club Visit

say Azteca's club climate was sunny and bright!
The "Club Climate" section of the Area
Governor's Club Visit Form includes positive
marks for the following categories: Well
organized, Productive, Run on Time, Guests
welcomed and Guests Asked to Return or Join. And
in the Comments section? Outstanding Forum!"
Congratulations, Azteca!

Beating the battle with
procrastination The celebrated Spanish
composer Manuel de Falla was devastated when he
received the news about painter Ignacion Zuloga.
Deeply distressed over his friend's death, Falla
lamented: "What a pity! He died before I
answered his letter, which he sent me five years
ago."
Remind yourself that this minute is the best
time to stop procrastination. Tell yourself that
today is the day you take off, step out, set
sail, break camp, make tracks. Understand what's
wrong with procrastinating, take the plunge, set
realistic goals; expect some difficulties,
prioritize responsibilities and
