My ex-wife Linda spent some formative years in Chicago (from about age 7 till 14). The high school she went to Lane Tech, was not too far away from Wrigley Field, where of course the Chicago Cubs baseball club plays their home games. She had a week long business trip out in Chicago Town, so she took off a day or two to check out her old neighborhood and stuff like that. Anyway, on the way to her high school, from the El (Chicago's elevated train system, you know), she just happened to see this 7-Eleven conveniently located right next to the ballpark. Wouldn't that be a swell place to go before or after a game? Maybe Sammy Sosa goes here to get those power packed 1/4 pound Big Bite hot dogs and Super Big Gulps of Gatorade to help keep him in shape for homerun derbies and such.

So here we go. There are photos involved, didn't I tell ya?
The first photo we have here shows the 7-Eleven by itself. I don't know if you can see it, but across the street there's a red-lined awning that has Fletch's pizza place and Wrigleyville Sports merchandise.
My kind of town, Chicago is...
And for the second photo, we have a sliver of Wrigley Field and the 7-Eleven sign together in perfect harmony.
Harry Carey probably bought Bud here
Okay, that's it. I've never been to Chicago, but if I were to go, I'd stop in and see what that 7-Eleven's like. Maybe catch a game (especially if the Padres were in town).
OKAY! I have been to Chicago now. And while I did see a good share of 7-Elevens in the Chicagoland area, I never stopped at one. Too busy doing other stuff (like eating cheese fries). Lest you worry, however, I did not go without diet coke during my stint there, so it was all good. I'm going to have pictures set up through a little Chicago page I'm working on at the moment. Enjoy. I certainly did.
