The Sparrow and the Dove

The other day, I happen upon a small sparrow. The sparrow was sadden by its life events and I would like to relate those events for you. One day, in the early spring, the sparrow was out hunting for food, when it happen upon a dove. The dove, lying under a bush, was alive, but had taken a terrible fall and was badly hurt. The sparrow, feeling the need to help, tended to its wounds and provided for its needs. As the days passed, the dove healed. The dove during this time, had expressed a great love for the sparrow. The sparrow and the Dove spent their days together.

As we all know, doves mate for life. The sparrow, in its sadden state, took to the air. It flew and flew, until it came upon me. Thinking I a dangerous creature, hoped for the worse. I, never knowing what to say, replied, you are most welcome to fly with me, for awhile." As we flew, the sparrow opened its heart to me. I, glad for the company, listened. When the sparrow was through, although still downhearted, felt a little better. Seeing this, I commented, "birds of a feather, must always flock together". The sparrow and I then parted company.
