The Wheel of the Year

• Yule: Yuletide, Winter Solstice:
  This is the longest night of the year...it usually occurs on the 20th or 21st of December. Yuletide lasts from December 20th to the 31st.

• Jan.1: a druid feast day where fires were lighted upon hilltops (New Years day)

• Jan.20(St Agnes Eve): time for divination

• Candlemas: Imbolic, Lupercus, Candelaria, and Disting. Feb.2-One of the great witch Sabbats.
  This is the banishing of the winter season. It is a day for cleaning out everything in the house and getting started to welcome the new spring.

• Shrovetide: Three days before Ash Wed. Another date for the great Sabbat

• Apr.24: (St Marks Eve) Eve for divining and herb gathering at night.

• Apr.30:(Walpurgis Night) Those accused of witchcraft during the witch panic of germany were burned on this date- another day for one of the greatest sabbats.

• BELTANE:
  May 1st (also on May 5th) Sometimes called, "the Lover's Fires." This is the night of the sacred fire of fertility. The dearest holiday for the Druid. This is the supposed night that the Goddess and the God are rejoined. In the Druid culture, the Priestess would tell fortune while people danced around the Beltane fires and then the Stag would come out of the forests and take her away from the group to rejoin with her.

• Summer Solstice:June 21
  On the first day of Summer (which normally occurs on or near this date),the Summer Solstice Sabbat is celebrated by Wiccan and Witches throughout the world. Summer Solstice (also known as Midsummer, Alban Hefin and Litha) marks the longest day of the year when the Sun is at its zenith. In certain Wiccan traditions the summer Solstice symbolizes the end of the reign of the waxing year's Oak-King who is now replaced by his successor of the waning year, the Holly-king. (The Holly -King will rule until the Winter Solstice.) It is an ideal time for divinations, healing rituals and the cutting of diving rods or wands." This is the time if anyone has some divining or healing to do.

• Jul.25:(St James Day) gather herbs on this day

• Aug.1: (Lammas) great Sabbat

• Aug.24:(St Bartholomew's Day) great Sabbat

• Samhain::
  Oct.31-(Halloween)Also known as All Hallows Eve. Largest sabbat of the year and fire festival-On this night and on the day of Nov.1st (the day of the dead), the dead are thought to return to walk the earth- traditionally leave food out and stay inside. Samhain is also known as the Wiccan New Year.

• Dec.21:(St Thomas's Day) great Sabbat and fire festival
