All about Ophelia...
Yeah, she's a big girl...and only half of her adult size.
Ophey is as sweet as she can be,for a snake
at least.
I acquired her some two months ago (as of
7-16-98) from this guy who was desperately looking for a buyer.Being the animal softy that I am,I impulsively purchased her.I don't regret the decision but I do have a much greater appreciation for herpetoculturalists now.I figure at least two tank size increases will be in order and that gets expensive. She's worth every cent though.
She's about 40 lbs and eight feet long.Opehlia's
diet consists of rats and rats alone. She eats one jumbo rat every two weeks
and,on occasion, two jumbos in fifteen minutes.
Reptiles do have a personality although it
isn't as pronounced as a feline's or a canine's.All I know is that I'm
sold on snakes even if they do grow to 16-18 feet and weigh upwards of
250 lbs.
BUT...
look at the link below BEFORE
you purchase a snake. It's a serious responsibility to undertake.Don't do
it because "it's cool".Love the snake just as you would any other animal
(or human) you share space with.
