My Tattoos

All of my work, unless otherwise noted, was performed by the Inkwell staff.
To begin with I have my spine:

This baby took about 20 hours to finish and was started almost five years ago. A really cool friend of mine (Josh Jones) did the initial outline and it took about 13 hours over three sessions. It was painstaking and slow but at least it's straight. Joey @ the Inkwell finished it by reoutlining and shading it for me. He then added the neckpiece in November of '97. I'm really pleased with the way it all turned out. You can now find Joey at Eon Tattoo in Pelham, Alabama.

Then there are my shins:

Justin, also at the Inkwell, did the first one on August 17th,1997 and the second on August 22nd, also 1997. We did the second one for Good Day Alabama, a local morning show on Fox 6. It was a lot of fun but terribly hot due to the lighting rig. Each one took approximately 2 and-a-half-hours.This astounded me since I had expected a lengthier session.Again I'm pleased. Justin is now the sole owner of Aerochild Tattoo at 914 23rd Street South in birmingham. He is more than capabale of helping you realize your ink dream come true. Stop by and take a look at their offerings.
I don't really have any good pictures of my mantis but it was one of my favorites since it was my very first piece from Josh. It has since been covered by a big-ass lotus which will become my half-sleeve in time. Jennifer Billig, the artist responsible for my left forearm, will redesign my mantis for my left arm and make it the scale that I wanted: BIG.

Jennifer Billig, a lovely young woman, graced me with my beautiful orchids at the 1999 Atlanta Tattoo Arts Festival. So far I'm at about four hours of work and I've since decided to give her my entire left arm. She is defintely someone to look up should you ever be in Portland or if you're fortunate enough to catch her at a convention in your area. Session #2 is now complete but due to a lack of storage space I cannot post updated pictures of this partial sleeve. Instead, you may find an image at I also have a fairy that takes up most of my chest and a north winds face on my stomach. These pictures are listed on my iam.bmezine.com page. You must be a memeber in order to view them.

On June 4 at the 2000 Atlanta Tattoo Arts festival I had a chance to get work from Ben Wahhh. Extra special thanks to Amanda for making my spider happen. You rock lady.
Four hours, more-or-less. I earned this one since it was my first taste of ink-bearing needle-induced pain. I want Ben to do something else but I have yet to decide where and what. He's a fantastic artist and I highly recommend him if you're ever in Chicago.

Tattoo Overdose?

Not bloody likely. June 5, 2000 I had the fortune of driving with Tom and Ingrid (two of my closer friends; thanks for staying in the shitty Hoiday Inn Select suite with me...room service neglected our sad little "single guys" room for three solid days. Fuckers.) to Good Clean Fun. Good studio space, friendly staff, excellent flash and lots of talent. Dave's a riot. Anyway, Joe Capiobianco was doing a guest spot after the convention and agreed to grace my right leg with the domme chick. It's taken two years of waiting but it's all worth it. I'd like to get some background added within the next year but I'll likely go to New Hampshire to get it. Joe's the bomb. Period.

Finally, there is my wrist. This is definitely one of my most favorite pieces since it was the first that I couldn't hide at work. Joey did a wonderful job (as always) on this one.

I am a coontinuing work in progress. I thank each and every artist who has taken the time to grace my skin with their work. If you're looking for something try a custom piece; it's a hell of a lot better than getting a piece of flash that anyone of the street can get and the cost is nominal compared to the years you'll wear your art.
