As an old timer I've heard it all. The 40s and 50s was the most creative time in contemporary american music. I fear we will never see such a time again, and I am fortunate to have experienced the era. My favorites today are Roy Hargrove, Keith Jarret, Jo
Faddis and many others who's names I don't know.

Hey why aren't there more guests on this page? Damn don't we have like 200 people on the list? Anyways, I think the setting is kind of drab here. Might be a good idea to try another background color, (lighter maybe?). Other than that, this is a great
age, Sheri.

Great site! And you have a nice mailing list going on here. I think your site is hep and classy. Check out my website when you get a chance. I'm with a big band in San Diego called Big Time Operator. We're hopefully up and coming, bring swing mus
c to the younger masses (it seems to be the new rage lately), but our goal is to be faithful to the great artists of this era, Duke, Louie, Lunceford, et al. We'll be performing tomorrow for a Frank Sinatra charity event in Las Vegas tomorrow right
after Tony Bennett, a tough act to follow. Well, anyway, keep up the great work here, I be back to visit again shortly. Carlos

First time visitor. Heard 3 jazz bands in concert last night-PG Doogies Roadhous in Deerfield Fl just up the road from Lauderdale.Duffy Jackson Big Band, Dennis Noday's new Kenton Band and John Branzer's Harry James group. All great sounds and togather.
ots of REAL Jazz here in southern Florida but many rock/blues that add a sax and trumpet and call themselves jazz bands also. Have to watch for the names and know the places but more good music than you can take in unless you are a non sleeper!. Doc

I took Sheri's advice to come over and sign in. I only wish I had been as gone over jazz when I was 16 as I am today. I lived in NYC then and all the bad cats were still kickin' But nooooooohhhh, I had to dig the Rolling Stones uber alles. (No fleas on
eith et al, but they're not Thelonious) O well. If we try sometime, we get what we need.
