Red Velvet Cake
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Crisco
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups plain flour, sifted 3 times
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbls. cocoa
1 cup butter milk
2 oz red coloring
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 tsp. vinegar
Instructions:
Mix all Ingredients from ingredients list.
Blend Well.
Mix on Medium Speed for 3 minutes.
Bake in two layers at 350.
Place in refrigerator to cool.
Frosting
1 cup milk
1/4 cup plain flour
dash salt
cook over low flame to pudding stage.
Set aside to cool..
CREAM:
1/2 cup Crisco,
1 cup oleo,
1 cup sugar,
1 tsp. vanilla,
add this to pudding mixture and beat until smooth.
Frost cake when layers are cool...
