Maggie's Memories

Good times I'd remember even without the pictures

(Good times on the water got their own section now - check 'em out!)

Now, this is me all dressed up for Easter when I was two. As you can see, that was way back in the mesozoic era, before color photography. 'Course I can't really say I remember those days, but I'd be willing to bet that's a yellow dress. I NEVER forget a face or a nice outfit!

I do believe I remember this shot! I had just gotten a baby brother, and wasn't all too sure about that deal! He smelled funny, and he couldn't run. At the time, I really would've rather had a puppy, but Mom seemed pretty attached to him, so we kept him. Good thing, too, since he grew up to be one of my favorite people.

OK, this is where life starts gettin' interesting! This is me and Paul, way back when we first started dating. This seems to mark the beginning of a trend. Ever since, most of my big fun has taken place on boats, and Paul's usually on 'em. I suppose people must date up north, too, but it just can't be the same without beach and boat parties.

...and this here's what the last picture led to. Don't I just look like the cat that swallowed the canary. And don't he look hot in that suit on a Mississippi afternoon in late September! It's not the heat, it's the humidity (punchline to about a million southern jokes).

You knew you'd see some Mardi Gras pictures, didn't you. Well, this one's from the time I was Duchess of Big Fun for Gulfport's Krewe of Zeus. Have you noticed... southerners have fun, and then they have BIG fun. I can't exactly say what the difference might be, but I suspect fun increases exponentially with the number of friends thrown into the mix. Somewhere along the line, it reaches BIG.

It's lucky that Southerners are so garrulous; otherwise, I'd have never met my friend Therese from Tregastel, France. I just had to comment on her accent, and we struck up kinship from there... We've traded vacations back and forth since. This is Therese with some unidentified ankle-biters, riding a camel at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans.
