The 1880 Tennesee Census for Maury Co. shows: William Connelly, Wife Tempa, Daughter Partheena, son Wesley. They are listed in Dist. 17 page 23. William Lee Connelly's death certificate shows that he was buried in the Dickson Union Cemetery on 4 July 1929. I contacted Mr. Gerald Lankford at the Union Cemetery and he checked the record books and found that there was a record of the lot next to Tempie being owned by William but that the book did not show him buried there. Mr. Lankford also checked the funeral home records and did not find records of the cemetery in which William was buried. Mr. Lankford attempted to probe the ground for evidence of a burial in the plot but the earth was to hard and he could only penetrate about two feet. Mr. Lankford said he felt sure that William was buried in space one of lot no. 176 in the Roth section of the Union Cemetery in the space next to Tempie Rosana Connelly, but there was no way to be positive.

William Lee Connelly married Tempie Rosana GARDNER, daughter of Jacob Darden GARDNER and Lucretia ADAIR on 8 Dec 1871 in Maury Co. TN.
Tempie was born 2 Jun 1855 in Leipers Creek, Maury Co., TN.
She died 11 Apr 1924 in Dickson, Dickson Co., Tennessee.
Shown on the 1880 TN census as Tempa.

Tempie is buried in the Dickson Union Cemetery, Dickson, Dickson County, Tennessee.
Her headtsone reads:

Born 2 June 1855
Died 19 March 1924
age 68 years 10 months 9 days
The stone is broken in 3 pieces and in a pile.
Tempie is buried in Roth section Block A, Lot 176, Space 2.
There is no headstone for space 1 and it is believed that William is buried there.

William and Tempie had the following children:

+	5	F	iii.	Jennie Mae CONNELLY was born 23 Jul 1898 and died 19 Jul 1929 in Dickson, Dickson Co., TN. and is buried in the Dickson Union Cemetery.
