Akili - 1987
The AKILI CD's show us a completely different side to Eef's playing. The music is probably best described as "New Age Jazz" and is certainly not up to the compositional standard of Eef's own song writing, however he still manages to provide the listener with some of the most melodic improvisations you will hear. There are at least three tracks on each CD where Eef gets to solo, it becomes very evident that the music would simply be too bland without Eef's contribution. Track 6 on Maasai Mara is my favourite, a great solo. As I have mentioned before I think that one of Eef's best attributes is his ability to play all styles and fit into any musical context.
