Tragedy struck the Dallas/Fort Worth and Texas Blues Community with the passing of Andrew Baxter in December. Andrew left a long legacy of supporting the blues and will be missed. His son, 11 year old Andrew Baxter, Jr. is part of that legacy and at his young age is already a fully accomplished blues guitarist. People have a hard time accepting this, but it's true. Andrew Baxter Jr. can play; really play.

Shortly after Andrew Sr.'s passing, Hash Brown began organizing a benefit to support the surviving Baxter family. The Sons of Hermann donated the use of their main concert ballroom and many, many musicians donated their time and energy to this project. All told, everyone had a fine time and the event raised thousands of dollars that went directly to the Baxter family to help them in this time of loss.
