An Angel's Wing

An angel's wing brushed my cheek
  When you entered into life.
"A brand new soul!" I said.

An angel's wing brushed my cheek
  As you struggled to remain.
"A real little fighter!" I said.

An angel's wing brushed my cheek
As you rested from your battle.
"The sleep of the innocent!" I said.

An angel's wing brushed my cheek
When she laid you in my arms.
  "Nana's little angel!" I said.

An angel's wing brushed my cheek
When you looked into my eyes.
"The wisdom of the ages!" I said.

An angel's wing brushed my cheek
When you left this mortal plane.
  "God's little angel!" I said.

An angel's wing brushes my cheek
  Every day since you've gone.
"I'm here to dry your tears!" she says.
