THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving is one of my two favorite holidays,
the other one being Christmas.
Neither is more favorite than the other
because they are each special in their own ways.

Thanksgiving is special because it is a time
of Family; a time to come together and put aside any
differences we may have had during the year; a time to
be grateful for those people and things which make life worthwhile.
I have learned in my life, never to take anyone for granted...
because they may not be with you in the next hour.
Love your family, love your friends and gather them
together because Thanksgiving is also a time to....
EAT!!!!

On this page, along with a some informative notes,
I will include some Thanksgiving menus and recipes
as well as some decorating ideas for your dining table.

DECORATIONS:

  • A quick easy centerpiece...Fill a pedestal bowl with silk or real vegetables and fruits, allowing some to gather around the base of the pedestal. Flank with candles in autumn colors.
  • Cut the top off a small pumpkin and arrange fresh flowers in the pumpkin meat. The juice will keep the flowers fresh.
  • Place a mirror tile in the center of the table. Place fall colored candles in varying shapes and sizes of holders upon the mirror. The candles will reflect in the mirror for a stunning effect.
  • Cabbage Centerpiece...Buy a large red or green cabbage. Cut a slice off the bottom so it will sit straight. Gently peel back the outer leaves for a flowery look, then slice about one inch off the top. Poke dried flowers in pretty autumn colors into the cut-away area and set cabbage on a bowl or saucer.
  • Stud oranges and lemons with cloves and place them in a bowl with cranberries, eucalyptus leaves, and dried roses. Not only is it pretty, but it smells delightful. Group some candles with the arrangement if desired.
