1 cup self-rising flour
1/4 stick cold margarine or butter
Buttermilk, as needed
Work together with hands until blended. Add buttermilk,
a little at a time until mixture is a sticky dough.
Turn out on a floured cloth or board.
Knead a few times with extra flour til
easy to handle.
Shape into a roll and pinch off about golfball-sized
pieces of dough and form into biscuits.
Or, you can pat the dough out to about 1 or 1 1/2 inches
thick and cut with biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass.
In an iron skillet, melt 3 or 4 tablespoons of butter.
Place biscuits in pan and turn so both sides are buttered.
Heat on burner at medium heat for about 3 or 4 minutes.
Place into a 450°F. oven until deep golden brown.
