4 cups self-rising flour
3 sticks unsalted butter, cut in pieces
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 pinches salt
1 cup each golden and dark raisins
Preheat oven to 450°
Work together with fingertips until mixture resembles large bread crumbs.
Add milk in stages until firm consistency. Place on a floured board,
roll
out and cut, using biscuit cutter. Place on lightly oiled oven tray.
Brush
with egg wash. Bake 8-10 minutes.
To serve, slice and serve with jam, butter, and clotted cream (or whipped cream).
