Janis couldn't keep the tears from coming and she barely said a word the whole
way there. Kevin knew Janis was upset, so he didn't say much himself. Janis
turned to Kevin with her mouth slightly open like she was about to say
something, but turned her head.

"What…what is it?" Kevin asked
"Nothing…I was just thinking."
"About what?"
"Umm… maybe you should just…drop me off." She sniffled. "I don't know if I can
leave as easily, with you there." Janis said, stopping herself from crying
again. "Yah, I was thinking the same thing." Kevin was a little disappointed. That's
not what he wanted to hear, but he didn't want to put much pressure on her.

Kevin pulled over at the curb and helped Janis out of the car.

"Are you sure you'll be ok to carry this?" He asked lifting her suitcase
"Yah, I'll be fine."
"Ok…Well, be sure to take every last pill and…stay off your feet!"
"I'll be fine Kevin." Janis smiled

Her smile quickly faded and she bit her lip to keep from crying again. Kevin
walked up to her and hugged her tight.

"I love you." He said tightening his grip
"I love you too." Janis softly cried

They pulled apart, and looked at each other.

"I'll call you." Janis said, picking up her bags.

Kevin nodded and got into his car. Janis moved her bags out of the way and
turned to watch Kevin drive away.

As soon as he was out of sight, Janis sat down on the stone wall. She put her
head in her hands and began to cry. She felt horrible for leaving, and she knows
he hurt Kevin the most by that choice. Now, she had a bad feeling of guilt.

Kevin walked into the house and saw the three guys talking, but no AJ. He
glanced down the hall and noticed AJ's door closed.

"Has he been in there the whole time?" Kevin asked
"Yup, the whole time." Howie answered.

Kevin could only imagine what AJ was going through.

"Are you ok?" Brian asked
"Yah." He sighed. "I'm really gonna miss her." Kevin laid his head on the
counter and sighed.

An hour passed and AJ was till in the room. It has gotten dark and the house
was quiet. They guys had another two days before their vacation ended and they
didn't know what to do with themselves. For some reason, the house seemed empty.
They were all used to hearing laughter no matter where they were. It didn't seem
the same.

Nick and Brian were in the kitchen making something to drink. Howie was looking
for some music to listen to while Kevin sat on the couch, staring into space.

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a car in the driveway. He tilted
his head back and peaked out the window.

"Celbie's back." He said looking into the kitchen, then back outside. "Oh my
God…" He said softly, then jumped to his feet.

Howie, Brian, and Nick watched him run out and slam the door shut. They made
there way to the window and looked out to see Janis standing next to the car.
They all gasped in surprise as Celbie walked in.

"A little privacy for them might help." She said
"What's going on?" Nick asked closing the curtain.
Celbie shrugged her shoulders. "She couldn't leave. She called me from the
airport a little while ago."
"Well…. This… is great!!" We should tell AJ!!!"
"No, um...Actually, she wanted to tell him herself." Celbie said stopping Nick.

(BACK OUTSIDE)
Janis took a few steps away from the car and stopped in her tracks when she saw
Kevin. He walked a little closer to her, then stopped. They stood there staring
at each other for a second when Janis dropped her bags, and held out her arms.

"Is there still room for one more?" Janis asked with tears in her eyes
"Oh… well, there was this fine girl on the way back from dropping you off… and
she's kinda staying here….. what do you think?!?!?" Kevin said laughing
"I just couldn't leave you again Kevin" Janis cried

Kevin quickly walked up to her and gathered her in his arms.

"I'm sorry." She cried in his shoulder.
"No, don't apologize. I'm glad you came back." He whispered.

Kevin's eyes began to water as he held her tight. He finally broke down, and
squeezed her tightly.

"Umm Kevin?"
"Yah Janie"
"Air would be really good right about now…. Is it bad when you see stars?" Janis
asked in a choking voice
"Oh, sorry…" Kevin laughed "Let me take your bags inside."

After wiping their tears away, they went back in. Janis said her hello's to the
other three who were patiently waiting. Kevin couldn't stop smiling.

"Is AJ in his room?" Janis asked
"Yah, he's been in there since you left. He hasn't come out for anything." Howie
said

Janis sighed nervously, and looked at Celbie

"Oh, uuuhhhh…do you guys want to go out?" Celbie asked

They all hesitated, but agreed.

"Where we goin'?" Brian asked.
"I don't know… play pool, golfing, video games…. Eat." Celbie said, walking out.
"My treat!"
"We'll see you when we get back I guess." Kevin said

Janis nodded, and closed the door. She waited for the car to leave, before
heading for AJ.
