Chapter 1

~July 4, 2000~

“Hey yall come on in!” Brian opened the door wider and let Kevin and his girlfriend into the house. The guys were having a 4th of July get together. Just them and there girlfriends well that is all of them had girlfriends except for one. He sat at the table alone looking at all his friends. He loved them to death but he just didn’t want to be around them today. Seeing them happy and in love hurt him because he didn’t have that. His last girlfriend had used him for his fame and money, kept him away from his family.....hell almost turned him against them. He never wanted to date again. Sighing he looked at each couple first there way Sammie and Howie they were just starting out but anyone could see that they would be together for a long time. They were in that giggly, touchy, kissy, feely stage. “Thats just sick.” He then looked over at AJ and Kel they were WAY to much alike that scared him sometimes. “They must share a brain. God I feel bad for Kel....sharing a brain with dumbass” Turning his head he look to see Brian, Kevin, and Beck walk in. Kevin and Beck....they made for a different couple. People who weren’t close to them or that they didn’t trust couldn’t really tell that they were dating. It was more like a brother sister relationship but he knew the real them. They just weren’t much on public displays of affection unless it was a get together like this, then they were just as bad as Howie and Sammie.

   “Earth to Nick!!! Come in Nick. What you thinking about Icky?” Nick let out a yelp as Amber jumped into his lap giggling. He gave her a grin and then proceeded to tickle her like there was no tomorrow. Well that was until she fell off his lap. Laughing he straddled her legs. “Awww what’s wrong Ambs fall down and go boom.” Nick poked her on her side taunting her to fight back. Grinning back at him she put her hands on both sides of his head. As fast as she could she sat up and pulled him too her and kissed him. She pulled back and looked at him still grinning and then looked up. Nick saw her eyes light up and he too turned his head up and looked at who was standing over them. “Man Nick I know your having a tough time in the woman department and all but do you have to make out with mine? The least you could do is make out with her behind my back and not right in front of me.”  He smiled the whole time he said that to let them know he wasn’t mad. “well then Frick can you do me a favor and turn around for a minuet.” Nick laughed as he got up and then helped Amber up. He watched as Amber took Brian’s hand and headed into the house to get some food and drinks to put out.

   Nick looked and sighed. Thats what he wanted, a relationship like Brian and Amber. They were fun to be around. Always laughing, picking on each other, or just being happy sitting on the couch and doing nothing. He was happy for his best friend. She was a great girl. He remembered the time he first met her. It was back stage at one of their shows her and some of her friends had won tickets and back stage passes. When he first met her she had called him Icky instead of Nick. Her and her friends all busted up laughing as did Brian who was standing close by and had heard the whole thing. Once everyone had calmed down she apologized for calling him that and told him that her friends would give her a hard time about wanting him. She would always tell them that he was Icky, that she would never date a guy younger then her or who had blonde hair. After that everyone started to talk and at some point Amber and Brian had disappeared on them. After a lot of looking they found them sitting on the edge of the stage with Amber’s head on his shoulder, holding hands, and talking about there child hood.  Why can’t he fined that....that one person that you just click with right away?
