Chapter 1

Returning to their table and finding it empty, Kevin's eyes scanned the club.
There they were on the dance floor.  Howie, his friend, and Amber, his
girlfriend.  All night he had watched them flirt.  All night he had kept his
temper in check.  After all, he trusted them both.  Howie would never make a
move on his girl.  And Amber, well, he knew she would never cheat.  But even
as these thoughts were running through his head he began to wonder.  Was he
sure of this or was he trying to convince himself?  Watching them now, he
began to question himself even more.

Looking back over at their table, Amber smiled.  He was there and he was
watching.  Now was the time to give him a little thrill.  She ran her hands
over Howie's chest and moved in closer.  Wrapping her arms around his waist,
she wrapped one up his back and the other down and over his ass, pressing
herself against him.

In spite of himself, Howie wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her
closer still.  To be heard over the music, he leaned in, saying straight into
her ear, "What are you doing girl?"

"Dancing with you."  She laughed as she replied.

"Uh huh.  We've been dancing, so why all of a sudden are you getting so
close?"

Amber just smiled and maneuvered them so that Howie was now facing the table,
rubbing herself against him.

"Damn Amber!  He's staring right at us!"

"I know."  She answered turning in his arms.  Dropping her hands to his, she
firmly held them in place, not allowing him to back away.

"So you want him to kill us both?"

"No, I'm just teasing him a little.  Besides aren't you enjoying yourself?"
Her hands gripped his hips, urging him on.

"Ah, hell!"  He said, finally giving in to her.

Kevin leaned back in his chair, the anger building in him.   His eyes never
left the pair on the dance floor.  He watched as Amber wrapped herself around
his friend.  He saw a conversation pass between them.  He could tell that
Howie had fought to resist, until she had finally made it impossible.  He
didn't blame Howie for this, he know just how tempting she could be.

As he sat watching he erotic scene unfolding before him, two things happened.
First he realized that even when she made him furious, Amber still turned
him on.  Initially, this only served to make him angrier, his mind cursing
his body.  Then a plan began to form in his mind, and a smile began to spread
across his face.  The casual observer would have read the look on his face to
say that he was having the time of his life.  Only he knew that he was
smiling about what was to come.

"See,"  Amber said to Howie as they approached the table, "I told you he
wouldn't be upset."  In response he could only shake his head.  Howie was no
casual observer, he had known Kevin for years, much longer than Amber, and he
knew that Kevin's face belied his true emotions.

"Amber,"  Kevin said.  "Go meet me at the door.  I need to talk to Howie for
a minute."

"Oh," she said disappointed, "Do you want to go already?"

"Yeah, it's getting late, now go on."

She thought for a moment about telling him she wanted to stay longer, even
suggesting that Howie could give her a lift home.  But when he continued to
stare her in the eye, she realized that arguing right now wouldn't be a good
idea.  As she walked toward the door , she began to wonder if he had been
jealous.  Even though the thought was ludicrous, she knew she was going to
have to baby him for a while.

Turning to where the two men were still standing, she could tell that they
were still in deep conversation.  She watched the look of disbelief cross
Howie's face, to be replaced by a broad grin.  Finally they shook hands and
Kevin came to join her.

Roughly taking her hand and pulling her out the door, he never said a word.
He opened the car door for her and immediately turned to go to the driver's
side, not waiting for her to climb in.  When he joined her in the car, she
turned to say something, but the look on his face and the tension in her body
told her that now was clearly not the time.
