What I'm listening to: Trust, from the Vandread OST

In case anyone's wondering, no I didn't get that vet receptionist job. But back to the present... Agh, My head hurts. I've honestly not slept well in days. It's really hard to considering all that I've been thinking of, it seems like my mind is racing at 1000mph and my body can't catch up. Blasted flesh. It's really sobering to think of recent events. All that I've done lately, and it never seems like I have any tangible proof of the things that I do. Forgive me for ranting for a moment (it's what I'm famous for), but allow me to shed some light on recent events.

-- It's been nearly one year since I'd updated my web page. It's about due for an overhaul, but I don't feel like bringing my coding knowledge to the present day. So for the moment I'll be using a WYSWYG editor.

-- I'm pretty much in the same situation as I was one year ago. Still in debt (but down to $850, praise the Lord!), still living with my parents, and still can't find a steady job. I've turned back to freelancing for spare cash. I've also been approached to design the web page for a local video game store chain. That I'm not so sure about, but I'm not a believer in chance so I'm sure there was some reason why I was asked. I also do small jobs for Kelly Services now, but I'm really looking for full time work. Preferably something that's $18k+ a year. Anywho.

-- I'm probably (more like finally) moving out soon. I really appreciate my parents taking me back in because of debt and college issues, but I really need to leave this house. For one, I can't get a Pell grant unless I'm on my own because of my Dad's tax status (or so the government tells me...)

On a completely random side note: Chibi Black Rose!!

Side projects I'm involved in:

-- I spent about five hours in the studio a few weeks ago laying down the ADR to a video game I was asked to do. It's supposedly coming out this summer, and it's called Super Fighter Block Battle, which is a game in the Super Fighter series. I was really excited about being asked to do it, despite the fact I'm doing it on a volunteer basis. It's great to have real voice work that I can put on my resume though.

-- I'm part of a ministry called Men of God, and from what I know we're the world's only (soon to be accredited) ministry that uses online gaming as a mission field. Interesting concept, I know. As far as political standing goes, my *MoG* name is Apostle John, I carry the office of a Major and I founded the Battlefield 1942 division. I've since stepped down and named a replacement, who is doing a phenomenal job. Check out the site. We rock, and we glorify God by doing it. We've also got a reputation with EA gamers as having the cleanest, most family friendly server out there. We play Counterstrike, C&C Renegade, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (and Spearhead), and Battlefield 1942.

-- I'm learning Japanese for the pure heck of it. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I'm learning it so quickly and picking it up easily that I'm considering going back to college as a Japanese major. It'd be kind of neat to be a translator or something, or maybe even get some work as an anime voice actor, or maybe even take part in a project to create a Christian anime. Speaking of anime, it's really cool now to know what the people in my favorite animes are REALLY saying, as opposed to what fansubbers and subbers say they're saying. I know the truth, oh yes... I know...

-- I'm a volunteer reviewer for Christian Spotlight's Guide to Games, a Christian site that reviews video games from two perspectives: Christian worldview and game quality. So naturally a game like Grand Theft Auto 3 would get a high quality rating because of it's wonderful production values and gameplay, but very low scores as far as being a game that a Christian should play because well... just read their review of it (I don't wanna get flamed more than I already do). I'm really enjoying it so far, and I just completed a Metroid Prime review, and soon I'll be writing reviews for .hack//Infection and Animal Crossing (that is when I can stop playing them...). I also post as Da Rabid Duckie on the forums, so say hi if you ever drop in.

You know, all this time I thought phenomenal was spelled phenominal... but my spellchecker says otherwise. It's funny, considering how anal I am about spelling. Weird. I'm gonna go play Animal Crossing, I'll be back later. Maybe.

What I'm listening to: The air leaking from my head...

So very tired....... so sleepy... can't go to sleep yet... so much to do.... *passes out*

Nani??? Ara??? Whoa, dozed off there... I need to hold out for at least six more hours. I haven't had a good night's sleep in three days, and if I don't correct my sleep schedule I definitely won't be.

On a more positive note, I FINALLY finished The Lord of the Rings yesterday... it only took me SIX YEARS.  >_<
