11:11 PM, on the computer
I'm so sore... I think that I need to lay off the skateboarding... I know I'm only a Kook (a rookie skateboarder) but this weekend alone I've suffered:
A scraped elbow
A pulled hip muscle (same one three times)
A pulled groin muscle
Road rash on my left knee
A bruise on my right knee (no one told me what happened if I DIDN'T kick the tail when going off a curb.... THWACK!!)
Three cuts on my left leg and one on my right
A slightly misplaced shoulder (it's just a lil sore)
And to top it off..... I smacked myself in the crotch while dismounting and kicking the board to my hand...... quite embarassing.
And what do I have to show for it? I can ollie two inches off the ground while not moving and I STILL can't ride very fast. It's not that I'm accident prone or anything, I think I'm just trying too much too fast. Like I said though, I'm gonna lay off until my hip heals and I can get some kind of insurance before I REALLY hurt myself. At least it's visible that I'm trying.
Speaking of injuries, today in a completely different incedent involving a stapler I sliced a 1/4" chunk out of my thumb. Praise the Lord for New Skin, it may sting putting in on but it keeps the wound shut nicely. I wonder if this is gonna leave a cool scar, darn knows it's reopened twice while I was skateboarding...
Earlier in the weekend I was the games director at a youth retreat. Despite the fact that the games that we didn't get to play were the ones that I spent the most money on, and a kid kicked a door almost off it's hinges during a game, it went very well!
11:34 PM, playing Hearts
Journal must cease. John playing Hearts.
11:43 PM, not playing Hearts
John's butt got kicked.
Um....... oh yeah, Chevelle rocks. I suggest any of their CDs. Earthsuit's okay too, but it's an aquired taste.
Back to the youth retreat I met Eugene McBride, the guest speaker from Rockwell, TX and we hung out a lot over the weekend. When he found out that I'm going to Christ for the Nations in Dallas, he immediately wanted me to come do my internship at his church!! It's amazing how much everything's falling into place, the only things I need now are a car, a computer and um.... the tuition. Lord?
Oh yeah... I broke my previous high score on Tony Hawk, now it's 321,000!!! My next stop: getting over that in one trick...
