12:10 AM, in a hotel room in Jackson, MS
Right now I'm writing from my bed in the hotel room I'm staying in. For the next few days I'm working as the Assistant Director of Security and Beverages at Jubilee JAM!, the Jackson Arts and Music Festival, in Jackson, MS. My uncle is the afformentioned person that I am the assistant to (because I am Mooooooojo Jojo), and I get: my own cell phone, a long-range radio/headset, VIP, All Access, and Bank passes, and a ton of other perks.
But seriously (yes I can be serious) I hope I get to witness to a lot of people this weekend. It would be soooo cool if I could win a few souls over to the Lord while I'm down here.
I've had a wierd day today, though. I woke p at 8 (yeah, I know... freaky, huh?), rode w/ my Aunt on a 3 hour drive (not to be confused with a 3 hour tour), hung out at my Grandmother's home in Brandon for a few hours, then went to a restaurant for a Jam Foundation production meeting. I sat at the bar, chowing down on an open face roast beef sandwich, and listening to the most profane man I've ever heard in my life. This guy would make a drunken sailor blush. And the kicker was, he was apparently a major big-wig in a multi-million dollar company. So I sat there listening to him and thinking "man, is he gonna die of a heart attack, or what?" So anyway I finished my meal and watched a baseball game with the Director of Volunteers, and he was drinking a beer and said a few mild (if any swear words are mild) swearing words, and he asked what I was up to now. I told him that I'm leaving for Dallas soon to go to seminary, and he turned stark white and almost choked on his beer, then immediately started apologizing. It was really really cool. Well after that I went to the volunteer check in on site, and helped charge the radios, helped organize performer checks in the payroll dept for a bit, then headed here. Well anyway I'm pooped, it's past midnight, so I'm saying my prayers and hitting the hay. G'night, and God Bless!
