11:23 PM, on the computer
Most of you already have heard the news concerning public prayer right now. For those of you who haven't:
"WASHINGTON (AP) - In a crushing defeat for school-prayer supporters, the Supreme Court reaffirmed that praying in public schools must be private. By a 6-3 vote Monday, the court barred officials from letting students lead stadium crowds in prayer before football games."
I'm not worried about it one bit. When I first heard about it, yeah I was a little ticked off but then I started thinking about it and I think it's pretty funny now. Think about it... in the scriptures it says that the world is going to keep Christians from doing what we do, however I kinda cheated... I turned to the back of the Book and I found out that we win... so in other words, people can just try and try and try to keep us down, but we're not gonna worry about it one bit.
But seriously, and I address this to the government and to anyone else that would try to keep us down, there are no laws for what we do (Galatians 5:22-23) and apparently the world thinks there should be, because our power comes through prayer. But what could a corrupt government do to me because I pray, huh? Throw me in jail? I was there the other day, and I actually think that I might prefer it considering the alternative :þ
Could you kill me? Throw me in a lion's den, burn me in a furnace, do what you want... I know where I'm going, I'll light the fire for you! It'd be an honor to die for the One that died for me so long ago! Point is... even if you stuck a gun to our heads and told us we couldn't pray, you'd have to pull the trigger because if the rest of the Kingdom feels like I do I would just pray for you right there.
Now people are going to criticize me for this, they always do. Call me power hungry, call me a megalomaniac, call me anything you like, I'll just laugh and bless you. I'm not power mad, I'm just confident in what the Lord has promised! Am I wrong for preaching a victorious Christian life that's free from the hassles of a world gone mad? Read the book of Acts and then tell me that I'm wrong, in fact please do, I'd love to be tested... cause if I'm wrong, do prove me wrong, it'd be embarassing to find out that I am but I'll take it all back! In fact the Bible even encourages this, in Revelation 2:2 Jesus commends the church of Ephesus for testing false apostles. So please test me, I would so love to be tested...
