Rainmakers, The ("Big Taylor & Lee Roy") The Blues: Man's Best Friend
Grab a rocking chair and uncork a jug of moonshine to enjoy this nifty set of acoustic blues from Steve "Lee Roy" Rohe and Britt "Big Taylor" Monk, a/k/a The Rainmakers. Playing traditional instruments like 12-string and resonator guitars, harmonica and accordion, Rohe and Taylor, along with Greg Fitch on bass fiddle, perform original compositions in the style of pre-war (1920s-1930s) blues artists (the tape also features covers of Big Bill Broonzy's "Mississippi River Blues" and Tommy McClennon's "Whiskey Headed Man." Fanatics will love this tape, and anyone who still associates the blues with Eric Clapton and beer commercials owes themselves a listen.
