Big Taylor & Lee Roy

Here's a short list of people who HAVE heard of us:

Glenn Adams maintains the Delta Kitchen Home Page and some very interesting lists.

Afternight, and their lists of unsigned bands..Worldwide!

"Armadillo Slim" At Highway 49 , Australia. [Armadillo, Yum, Yum! Possum on the half shell!].

Doug Ashby, "Roots" programming at radio stations WXLV, WDIY.

"Beef Stew", a radio personality who maintains a fine list of Musicians and Bands. (Or is it maintains a list of fine Musicians and Bands?). Anyway, we're on it.

Bob Benson, webmeister for the Down Home, a great club we've played before. The "Down Home" is one of the few places in East Tennessee where you can hear a name artist in a small room; where you might even talk to them on breaks. Cover charges are understandably high, but it's a great place, and they have everything musicians would need for an acoustic performance. It's in Johnson City, Tennessee, go there.

Kevin Boyle at radio WCDE, Beverly, West Virginia.

Blues-Link Blues Links,You think,

Hal Brolund, a fine acoustic guitarist-songwriter, from way out on the wind-swept prairie of Manitoba, Cananda. His song, "Nick's Cafe" oughta be the national anthem for all us independent musicians.

Don Brown aka "Dr. GitsDown", radio host of "Steepin' in Da Blues" at KRUA, Anchorage, AK.

William Bultas of the Chimera web site. I think we have a case of mistaken identity here, and that Mr. Bultas believes one of us to be among the "highly intelligent". It sure ain't me, and Lee Roy's not too smart either. But what the hell, reciprocal links are free advertising!

Andy Burnett who operates Roadkill's WWW Music Data Base.

Don Campau, radio host of "No Pigeonholes" at KKUP, Cupertino, CA. And also owns and operates "Lonely Whistle Music", where you can find music that's really out of the mainstream.

Mike Carlson: Webmaster of four different sites -
  1. Minnesota Music Scene
  2. Flying Buffalo Designs
  3. Nightmare Records
  4. Gemini On-Line

Chicago Blues Explosion, WCBR radio. Though they didn't play our tape because cassette tape is too hard for a modern radio station to queue up, at least one DJ there really liked our music. (We didn't have the dough for CD). This station is a high-powered "Drive Time" FM blues radio station in a big city way up north, so we were understandably flattered. Said they would give the tape away in a contest when they were done listening to it. So maybe someone in Chicago, maybe the third caller who calls in and tells them correctly just how many wings a wombat has, will get a copy of "The Blues: Man's Best Friend".

Greater Cincinnati Blues Society, Ohio.

My beautiful wife, Cindy, who is a business lady in local real estate.
  1. Click if you want to BUY real estate.
  2. Click here if you want to SELL some.

The Colorado Blues Society, way out west.

Pat Cook of the Electric Rag Band, a great musician, and kindred spirit. The band has one of the finest versions of "Bullfrog Moan", since Lonnie Johnson and "Blind Willy Dunn"(Mr. Lang) played their famous duet.

Beverly "BC" Conklin, of "BC and the Blues Crew".

Steve Covert webmeister for the Inland Empire Blues Society, Spokane, Washington.

Crossroads Blues Society, Kalmar, Sweden.

Martin Dunstan, Radio 3 Way FM, Warrnambool, Australia.

Dead Angel, the notorious music ezine, with especially good coverage of new and avant garde music (except for country & rap). They reviewed us in issue #30.

Jammin' Jim Farris, Late Night City Blues, radio station KKUP, Cupertino, CA. Typical playlist.

Friends Blues Band. I can't read the language on their site. It might be Italian, but they promise to have English up soon. Then we'll know what they said about us.

Michael Gantt at the Baltimore Blues Society.

Richard Gillman, a radio host at KBCS, Bellvue, WA. He also is an authority on fingerstyle guitarists, check out Fingerpicking Guitar.

Jai Goulding hosts the Rhythm & Blues Show, Australian Community Radio.

Al Handa, Editor/Publisher of the Delta Snake News , the Online Blues 'Zine.

Hell Blues Club, Hell, Norway.

Doug Henkle, Editor/Publisher of the Folk Book Index. Proud to be listed as acoustic blues fingerstyle guitarists, cause we do it with our fingers.

Hershal of Rouge Records, Aukland, New Zealand.

Curtis Hewston , The Blue Highway.

"Charlie B" Hicks, radio host at WMTN, Morristown, TN. I got married on his radio show.

Inwave Area Home Pages. Got no idea what this is about, but if they link to us, we'll link to them.

William Lewis of the Jewel-Paula Records. Another web-based music company which does not sell our music, but with whom we maintain friendly relations in case some day they might.

Jeff Mallett, who maintains the Songwriters on the Web data base.

The Midwest Music Review.

They've heard of us in Netpic's Musician's Quarter.

Mark Naftalin, radio host of "Mark Naftalin's Blues Power Hour" at KALW, San Francisco, CA.

Robert Neill. A friend of mine. On Robert's behalf I would ask each of the next 2000 visitors to his site to each send him one dollar, so that he can afford a euphonium, and thus give him the opportunity to play bass with us.

Glenn Nelson At Highway 49 in Australia.

Ron Nethercutt at KSLU, Hammond, LA.

Omega Productions. From the looks of their Web Page, they do it all.

Dave Page, radio host of "Blues in the Night" at WHQR, Wilmington, NC.

Ken Paul of Desi Boyz records, an on-line music store which even though does not sell our music, we are nonetheless inextricably linked..

David N. Pyles, of the "Folk Acoustic Music Exchange", Music Alive!.

Ralph & Kacoo's, a fine restaurant in New Orleans French quarter. Check their famous bread pudding!

Marcel Roy of Memphis, Tennessee, has a cool home page, with lots of local Memhis music info.

Steam'n Stan Ruffo, radio host of "Blues on Tap" at KIOO, Visalia, CA. One of his typical playlists.

Songs OnLine, a really cool experiment. Songwriters of all genres - country, pop, gospel, etc - submit two or more songs to this site. The songs are loaded in on their server in real audio format, and can be listened to all over the Web. Then all the other participating songwriters get to evaluate these songs. We gave 'em two: "Hound Dog Blues" and "Slick Willy Blues" which have remained happily near the bottom of the list with some other really good tunes. I just wished that my fellow songwriters who scored "Slick Willy Blues" so poorly for musical content realized that actually we are playing (note for note and impeccably) "Steady Rollin' Man" by the great Robert Johnson. I don't care if they gig the lyrics; it's a political song, and maybe they like Bill Clinton.

Daniel Seidenberg, a brother.

Sean Smothers, radio host of "6 O'Clock Blues" at WSIE, St. Louis, MO.

Joel Snow At Blues Online.

Marty Spaulding, "Sunday Blues" programming, WRKR, Kalamazoo, Michigan..

Ray Stiles at Blues on Stage in Minnesota.

Jim Taylor, no relation to me, but a fine musician-songwriter out of Asheville, NC. And though he didn't write the I've Seen Fire and I've Seen Rain song, let me tell you he's written some tunes that would make James proud.

Peter Thompson of Zane Records, A U.K. record company that almost signed and produced us, had it not been for the interference of phases of the moon. But he's still a good guy, Zane's a good company, and who knows, it might happen yet!

Mark Turner, of KGPR, Montana Public Radio in Great Falls

Bob Unger, photographer and blues archivist, check his NetPic site.

Pascal de Vries, curator of lyric archives for ours and thousands of other songwriters. In case you didn't know, song lyrics are kept for posterity in an impregnable vault buried deep beneath a mountain in the Swiss Alps, near Bottminger, Switzerland.

Scott Wenzel, (Do NOT call him Fred!) has the Blues Music Pageand the Weightless Dog page!

Wayne Winkler, radio host of "Blue Monday" at WETS, Johnson City, TN. He owes us some favors.

"St. Wishnevsky" a talented poet, songwriter, and musician-composer, in or about Salem, NC.

Jeff Yelton of the Mount Lion website.

And of course we're considered to be one of the Ultimate Bands on the Internet.
