All eyes on the
Godfather
and the Soul Generals
with
Waldo Weathers

Exerpt of article from The Tennessean, By Jay Orr

In the new Blues Brothers movie, James Brown returns to his role as the Right Rev. Cleophus James.

Friday, a year after his last incendiary performance in town, he comes back to Ryman Auditorium to hold church once again as the Godfather of Soul....Brown rolls into town from Augusta, GA, home of James Brown Enterprises, with an entourage that includes Middle Tennessee residents Hollie Farris (trumpet and musical director and Waldo Weathers (saxophone).

As he did with their predecessors---the Famous Flames and the JB's---Brown demands that his current band, the Soul Generals, stay focused and razor-sharp in concert, watching his every move on state in order to accent a dip or a fancy step with a horn blast or a drum crack.
