Saving The Avatars/Megas

• Place your cursor over the avatar you want to save.

• Right click on the avatar.

• Choose "Save Image As" (Netscape) or "Save Picture As" (Internet Explorer) depending on which browser your using.

• Save the avatar in your personal avatar folder in the virtual places directory. ( C:/Program Files/VPlaces/Exts/"avatars" or "whatever you named this folder.")

Using The Avatars/Megas

• Right click on your current avatar or name (in the right hand column), then click on "Edit Identity."

• Next click on "Personal" and then "Change"

• Select one of the avatars and click on "ok"

Saving The Tours

• Place your cursor over the tour you want to save.

• Right click on the tour.

• Choose "Save Image As" (Netscape) or "Save Picture As" (Internet Explorer) depending on which browser your using.

• Save the tour in your personal tour folder in the virtual places directory. ( C:/Program Files/VPlaces/Exts/"tours" or "whatever you named this folder.")

Using The Tours

• On the task bar (at the top of the browser) click on "Guided Tours."

• Next click on "set up a tour" and then choose a tour bus and click on "ok"

• You can also set the tour bus to 2 or 11 seats and name your tour.

• Then click on "Guided Tours" again and then "start a tour."

• You can also start a tour by right clicking on your avatar or your name in the right hand column.

• The gesture icon is a small yellow smiley face and can be found next to the Send button at the bottom of your vp screen.
• Click the yellow smiley face to open the gesture palette.
• Click on a gesture and press Send.
• The gesture will animate next to your avatar.

Create a new gesture palette


If you've run out of room on your gesture palette, you can create a second one. (And a third, and a forth, etc.)

1. Create a new file folder in the following directory: c:\ProgramFiles\Vplaces\Exts.
2. Name the new file "Gestures2". (or Gestures3 etc.)
3. Save your gesture files to the following folder (or move old gestures into the following file folder from your other gesture file location): c:\ProgramFiles\Vplaces\Exts\Gestures.

To use your new gesture palette:


1. Choose "Tools" on the task bar (located at the top of your vp screen.)
2. Select Preferences.
3. Click the Directories Tab.
4. Locate the Gesture Gallery.
5. Change the file path to the following: c:\ProgramFiles\Vplaces\Exts\Gestures2. (Or insert the name of the gesture folder you just created in place of "Gestures2".)
6. Click OK to close the window.
7. Click on the smiley face button on the chat screen and then click on F5 to access the new palette.
