The Hot Jazz 7 plays furiously fun music in the New Orleans Ensemble Jazz style of the roaring 20's.

It is the only two-trumpet Dixieland group in Northeast Ohio and plays throughout the area at a variety of events.

2007's  HJ7                        HJ7 of the 1990's

The Hot Jazz 7 always performs with 6-8 players. The full complement is two trumpets/cornets, clarinet, trombone, tuba, banjo, piano, and drums.

The Hot Jazz 7 was founded in 1995 by Tuba player Dick Houck and plays at a variety of events, primarily in the Greater Cleveland area. They have played numerous annual municipal summer events, private parties, weddings, restaurants and taverns. They have appeared many times at NightTown restaurant, have been featured on the Bill Gordon TV show, played for the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus, appear regularly at Earlyjas Society gatherings, and performed at the Swing 'n Jazz Fest at Blossom Music Center, and as far from home as Charleston West Virginia's Wine and All That Jazz Festival.

Musicians are: Brent Gardner - Trumpet/cornet, Jack Brndiar -Trumpet/cornet, Al Couch - Trumpet/cornet, Vince Monaco - Trumpet/cornet, Ted Witt - Clarinet, Geoffrey Polk - Clarinet, Marc Berridge - Trombone, Rich Hamilton - Trombone, Kevin Berridge - Trombone, Ed Kubasky - Trombone, Jonathan Fairman - Tuba, Phil Cartwright - Banjo, Bill Knapp - Banjo, Bill Parthe - Banjo and Piano, Bob Erdman - Piano, Dave Chafe - Piano, Bill Fuller - Drums, Stan Ebin - Washboard and Cornet.
