Startup, Reboot, and Shutdown Screens

Herein lie a couple of doo-dads that will brighten up the life of any Coltrane enthusiast. I'm neither a computer programmer nor a graphic artist, so you won't find anything fancy, but if you're a fan, you will probably enjoy them.

This screen saver consists of five images: with Dizzy, the Blue Trane picture, my Love Supreme tattoo, with Alice, and the index from the Cleveland Plain Dealer the day after his death. Just download the zip file and press setup. Then go to your display properties and choose Coltrane from the drop down menu. It's that simple. Unfortunately, this screen saver will work only with Windows 95 and 98, not NT, 3.1, or MacIntosh

These startup, reboot, and shutdown screens can replace the cloud screen you get when Windows is booting up, the "Wait while Windows prepares to shut down" screen, and the "It is now safe to turn off Windows" screen. All three use the "Love Supreme" cover picture, with different color backgrounds. The first one has "Acknowledgement" printed on it, the second "Resoulution", and the third "Psalm". I guess "Pursuance" takes place while you are at your computer. To install these screens, download the zip file, open it, and follow the instructions in the "read me" file.

Of course to unzip these files you need a zip program. If you don't have one, go to the Winzip home page and get theirs.
