MY ROOTS:

I was born in a small town on Interstate 10 (literally), called White Castle.  (No, it's
not where the White Castle hamburgers were invented!)  However, it is home to Nottoway
Plantation, the largest surviving plantation home in the South.  The majority of my relatives
still reside in Louisiana.  You'll find my 92 year old pa-pa working at the local watering
hole, Blue Heaven.  Also, you'll find my Ma at...well, er, you won't find her, she never
stays in one place for very long.  Next, you can find my Dad at...uh, no, you won't find
him either. He's always fishing in Grand Isle or somewhere--bass is his favorite!

What I Remember:

• Thunder storms
• Cousin Ida Mae's popcorn balls
• "Slopping" the hogs and feeding the chickens
• Aroma of sugar cane at harvest
• Crab and shrimp boils

What I Miss Most:

• My family
• Starry night sky
• The smell of the air after a rainfall
• Watching the boats on the mighty Mississippi River from the levee
• Restaurants: Picadilly's, Ryan's and Morrison's
