YOur Web Site interested my, because I am seeking information on my great grandfather, Richard Martin, who was in the 36th Virginia Infantry. From what I have been able to find, I believe he may have been in Company H (2nd). He lived in Pipestem, West V rginia (VA at that time). He enlisted in the Confederate Army at Giles County Virginia. Richard Martin lived until 1922, and according to my father, was buried in his Civil War uniform at Pipestem. I found some information about him on Ancstry.com, whi h indicated he was buried at Wyrick Cemetery. I have found no record of this cemetery. I was born and raised in Charleston, WV, but my father was raised in Hinton in Summers County. My mother is from Glen Ferris. One of her uncles was in the Fluvanna Artillery.

Great site! My great-grandfather, Lemuel G. Cheuvront, was in Capt. Beckett's Cavalry, Co. C, 36th Virginia. He was captured and almost hung by the Yankees before being sent to Camp Chase in 1863. Lemuel's brother, James, and their cousins, Gideon and Joseph Cheuvront were also in the 36th. You boys would make them proud.
