ARNOLD



The first Arnold we can document in this line was Thomas Arnold, born in Farquier County Virginia on March 4, 1725. Thomas was a Capt in the Revolutionary War (unit unknown) according to the DAR Patriot Index. He married Abigail Wyche and had at least one son named, Samuel.



Samuel was born in Spotsylvania County, Virginia and served as a Private in the Revoultionary War from North Carolinia. He married Elizabeth Wright. (Elizabeth's linage is on the Wright page). They had 12 children, the 10th was Elijah Arnold who was born in 1795 in North Carolina and married Sarah Smith.



Elijah and Sarah moved their family to Bedford County Tennessee before 1828 when their youngest son William "Wid" Arnold was born.



William "Wid" Arnold married Patience McAdams and had 7 children. After Patience died between 1864 and 1870, William re-married and moved with his new wife and children (both grown and still young) to Grayson County , Texas.

Wid's son, John Henry Arnold married Mary Frances Webb in Bedford Co. TN and moved to Grayson Co, TX with his father and some of his siblings. John Henry was a confederate veteran serving as a Private in I Co, 29th Inf. John and Mary had 6 children including a set of twin girls Minda and Manda.

William Edmond was the 3rd son of J H and Mary Arnold and he married Ida Mae Williams in 1899 in Tom Bean,Grayson Co, Texas.
