CROWDER

Our first known Crowder ancestor is James Crowder born about 1794. He married May "Polly" Killough and they had a daughter, Sarah Killough Crowder.

I have James as the son of James Crowder and Anna Ehman. This James the son of William Crowder and Johanna Rous. But there has been some dispute lately if this William is actually the father of James. Right now I still have them attached to each other but that may not be the case.

Sarah Killough Crowder was born in Alabama in 1917 and married Thomas L Hudson about 1837. Sarah and Thomas migrated from Birmingham, Alabama to Tennessee Colony, Anderson CO., TX in 1845. Thomas and Sarah had 6 children and their stories can be found on the Hudson page. Sarah died Nov 4, 1871 and is buried at Bethel Cemetery, Anderson CO., TX.
