MARTINS
Our earliest known Martin ancestor is Ephraim R Martin who was born in Lincoln Co, NC and died in 1894 in Ravenna, Fannin County, Texas. He was married to Cintha Unknown before 1841 and had 3 children, Mary, Thomas and Abbie. In 1864 Ephraim married Susan Rowark in Cabarrus Co., NC and they had 2 children, William J and Edward "Bruce" Turner Martin. Ephraim and Susan are buried in Allen's Point Cemetery, Honey Grove, Fannin Co., Texas.
Edward Bruce "E.T." Martin was born in Tennessee and moved to Fannin Co., Texas with his father's family, to Texas sometime after the Civil War. He married Mary Nettie Ward, and had 6 children. Two of their daughters, Cora Belle and Alice Rosalee are seen on this page. Cora married Truman Holcomb and Rosalee married Lester Caylor. Both daughters had several children and there are quite a few Holcombs and Caylors in Fannin and Grayson Counties still.
