(This is an aircraft I built for another flyer, not mine)
My club, GCRCC, decided for the year of 1999 they were going to create a new set of club contests with the 1/12 scale warbirds. My friend Adam and I decided to cut some P51 kits for the cmobat since the local dealers didn't carry the kits. We used the contest winning Hergett Mustang desing for plans and sig canopies. Everything else on the plane we scratch cut. Adam has a bow to cut foam wing cores and together we were able to cut all the parts. We have already sold over 15 kits to the local clubs. The club was very excited for a while about the new contests but the combat matches never developed. Pilots weren't willing to put a weeks work into the plane so there was a lack of combat pilots. Hopefully over time the contests will develop into a competetive league.
