MIMIC My first venture into design and scratch building
Another photo
I first got the idea for this aircraft after flying combat gremlins for quite some time. The gremlin design is a wonderful flier without a tail, even in windy conditions. This made me wonder how a fun fly style gremlin would perform. The evolution of Mimic is still in the refinine process so hopefully I will have a kit I can sell. The first flight tests came from a crashed Morris Knife aircraft. A pilot at the field crashed his Morris and snapped the fuse right behind the wing. He gave me the two pieces of the plane which I took home to modify. First I extended the broken fuse back to the trailing edge of the alerons. Then from this flat end of the fuse I hinged a very large rudder. I coppied the cape style rudder to give plunty of control.
