The AR8000 Reference Card for Novices

This is my quick reference card that shows the basic operation of the
AR8000. If you want to see other information email

Program Data
To program a frequency into memory (scanning):
1. Push [2VFO]
2. Enter the frequency
3. Push [ENT] once
4. Push and hold [ENT] for one second
5. Enter in bank by using the [DIAL] or the keypad. It will show the next
available channel
6. Enter a seven character description in the TXT line by using the [DIAL]
7. Push [ENT]
Repeat steps 2-7 for all frequencies
To progam a search bank:
1. Push [FUNC][6]
2. Select bank by pushing the letter key, using the arrow keys, or using
the [DIAL]
3. Push [ENT]
4. Change mode to correct mode using the arrow keys or the [DIAL]
.....NOTE: ">" indicates next mode, "#" indicates current mode.....
5. Select attenuator setting on/off by using the [DIAL]
.....NOTE: attenuator can reduse interference, but will also reduse
the signal by 10db. It is
.....useful where there is a lot of signal interference.....
6. Select step size by using the arrow keys or the [DIAL].
.....NOTE: if AUT was selected in mode select, skip this step.....
7. Enter the lower frequency by using the number keys
8. Push [ENT]
9. Enter the upper frequency by using the number keys
10. Push [ENT]
11. Enter the seven letter description by using the [DIAL]
12. Push [ENT]
If you make a mistake anytime before step 12, press cancel and restart.
Monitoring
To monitor one frequency:
1. Push [2VFO]
2. Enter the frequency
3. Push [ENT]
This can be done for any frequency
To scan one bank:
If not already scanning, push [SCAN]
Change banks by pushing letter on keypad
If you want to hold on one channel, push [ENT]
To resume scanning, push [SCAN]
To search one bank:
If not already searching, push [SRCH]
Change banks by pushing letter on keypad
If you want to hold on one frequency, push [ENT]
To resume searching, push [SRCH]
Deleting Channels
Individual Channel:
1. Enter "M.RE" mode.(If you are in SCAN mode, push [2VFO][SCAN])
2. Rotate the [DIAL] to the channel you want to delete
3. Push [FUNC][9]
Deleting complete memory banks:
1. Push [2VFO]
2. Push [FUNC][9]
3. Rotate the [DIAL] to "MEMO-DATA"
4. Push [ENT]
5. Rotate the [DIAL] to the bank you want to delete
6. Push [ENT]
