RIDING ON A COMET
The NASA project STARDUST includes a little project called MICROCHIP.
The STARDUST Spacecraft will be launched in 1999, will reach the Comet in 2004 and the craft will return to Earth in 2006. The craft will land on the Comet surface and collect material of the cometbody (which is brought back to Earth).
Mounted aboard the STARDUST Spacecraft is a Silicon waver which contains 136212 NAMES of people around the world. Till 30.Nov 1997 it was possible to subscribe for this chip (where your name was burnt in) to fly to the Comet Wild2.
