KP Kit Versions

This is a listing of all the KP models in the order they were released. I give a complete list of versions included in the kits I have seen, as well as information about separate decal sets from other manufacturers, if I know them.

  1. Aero L-29 Delfin


    Czechoslovakia, Kosice flying school, probably 1960's
    Overall silver, red wing tips and nose, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Uganda
    Uppersurfaces in coffee brown and light greyish blue, undersurfaces in turqoise blue, red wing tips and nose, four red stripes on both sides of the nose reaching as far as the cockpit, four red stripes near the wing tips. Uganda roundels in brown, yellow and red with crane heads in the middle.

  2. Avia B-534


    Czechoslovakia, 1930's
    Khaki uppersurfaces, silver undersurfaces, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Slovak uprising, 1944
    Khaki uppersurfaces, light blue undersurfaces, yellow identification stripes on the fuselage, underside wing tips and nose. Insurgent roundels (Czechoslovak with Slovak crosses).

    This same model was also released by Aeroteam with a different decal set including the following:

    Slovakia, 1939 during the invasion of Poland
    Khaki uppersurfaces, silver undersurfaces, early Slovak roundels with German crosses in addition to them.
    Germany, Eastern front, winter
    White uppersurfaces, silver undersurfaces, yellow identification stripes on the fuselage and underside wing tips, German crosses.

    Decals for this model are also included in the BR220 Slovak Air Force decal sheet released by Blue Rider:

    Slovakia 1940-41, Tri Duby Airfield
    The same as Slovakia from Aeroteam, fewer German crosses.
    Slovak Air Force, 13th Squadron, Kiev, 1942
    Camouflage as with the insurgent version, Slovak crosses in red, white, and blue.

    The BR238 WW2 Slovak Military and Civil decal sheet from Blue Rider has another version for this plane.

  3. Il-10/Avia-B.33


    Czechoslovakia, after 1945
    Dark green uppersurfaces, pale blue undersurfaces, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Soviet Union
    Same colours, Soviet stars.
    North Korea
    Same colours, Korean red stars on white roundels with red and blue lining.

  4. MiG-19


    Czechoslovakia
    Ovarall silver with red wing and fin tips, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Soviet union
    Overall silver, Soviet stars.
    Pakistan
    Uppersurfaces in green, browngreen, and ochre, undersurfaces in light blue, roundels in green and white on the wings and fuselage, green flags with white crescent and star on the fin.

  5. Letov S.328


    Czechoslovakia, 1930's
    Same as Czechoslovak Avia B-534.
    Czechoslovakia, pontoon version, Adriatic
    Same as above, triangular CS flags on the fuselage.
    Slovak uprising, 1944
    Uppersurfaces in dark green, undersurfaces in light blue, insurgent roundels.

  6. Lavochkin La-7


    Ivan Kozhedub, 1945
    Dark green uppersurfaces, light blue undersurfaces, yellow fin tip, red nose and triangles on the sides of the engine, red parts with silver lining. Soviet insignia, 62 little red stars on the sides under the cockpit for achieved kills, three additional stars for medals.
    Ivan Kozhedub, winter 1945/46
    Dark green and light blue replaced by overall white, fin tip in blue. No Soviet insignia on the fuselage, otherwise same as above.
    Ivan Kozhedub, Demodedovo Aviation Exhibition, 1967
    Same as the 1945 version, but dark green replaced by dark blue, yellow by white, and silver by white. Soviet insignia added on the uppersurfaces of the wings.
    Czechoslovakia 1945
    Uppersurfaces in dark green and dark brown, undersurfaces in light blue, Czechoslovak roundels, red lightnings on engine sides as regimental insignia.
    Czechoslovak regiment, Soviet Union, 1944-45
    Same as above, Soviet insignia instead of Czechoslovak.
    Czechoslovakia, later after the war
    Khaki uppersurfaces, light blue undersurfaces, Czechoslovak roundels.

    Czechoslovakia 1938 (prototype)
    Uppersurfaces in green, brown, and ochre, undersurfaces in light grey, Czechoslovak roundels (mobilisation marking). Various variations of marking described, as flown during the tests.

  9. Aero C-3A/Siebel Si 204


    Czechoslovakia, Svazarm (Civil Sports Association), 1950's
    Uppersurfaces in dark green, undersurfaces in pale blue, no national insignia, registration codes on all wing surfaces and fuselage sides.
    CSA Czechoslovak Airlines, 1947
    Ovarall greenish grey, no national insignia, registration numbers as above, blue stripe with white lining on the fuselage and fins.
    Czechoslovak Air Force, Prostejov base, 1950's
    Dark green uppersurfaces, pale blue undersurfaces, Czechoslovak roundels.

  10. Avia S-199


    Czechoslovakia S-199.185 (1948 to early 50's)
    Overall dark green, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Czechoslovakia S-199.238 (1949 to early 50's)
    Overall greenish grey, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Czechoslovakia S-199.486 (1949 to early 50's)
    Overall dark green, Czechoslovak roundels, white godess on engine sides, non-convex canopy.

    A separate decal set for three Israeli Avias was released by Extratech in 1992. They are all in overall RLM 02, and differ in stripes on the fin, registration numbers and various details.

    A large Marking Collection decal set was released by Propagteam for this kit. It includes, as far as I know, various versions used by the Czechoslovak army and police force, and by the Israeli Air Force.

  11. Avia CS-199 Trainer


    Czechoslovakia, 1950's, three versions
    Three Czechoslovak versions used in flying schools (Prostejov). All versions in overall silver with Czechoslovak roundels, two of them with yellow identification stripes. They differ in registration numbers and various details. One of the versions is the machine on display in the Kbely Aviation Museum.

    Overall silver, yellow identification stripes, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Czechoslovakia, Air Research and Test Institute
    Khaki uppersurfaces, light blue undersurfaces, Czechoslovak roundels, registration codes also on the wing undersurfaces.
    Czechoslovakia, police force
    Overall silver, red nose and leading edges. Police convex triangle in national colours on the fin. Registration codes on both wing surfaces and fuselage sides.

  15. Aero L-39 C Albatros


    Czechoslovakia
    Uppersurfaces in dark and light green, undersurfaces in grey, yellow nose and wing and fin tips, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Soviet Union
    Same colours, Soviet insignia.
    Cuba
    Same colours, Cuban roundels on one wing only, fin as the Cuban flag.

    The BR806 Slovak Republic Air Force 1993 decal sheet from Blue Rider includes three Slovak Albatrosses.

    The BR807 Lithuanian Air Force 1993/94 decal sheet from Blue Rider includes one Albatros.

  16. Letov S-16


    Czechoslovakia, 1930's, three versions
    Three Czechoslovak versions from 1930's differing in registration codes and regimental insignia. Khaki uppersurfaces, silver undersurfaces, Czechoslovak roundels.

    A separate decal set for this kit is offered by Propagteam:

    Latvia, 1930's
    Same colours as the versions above with nose in natural metal and different insignia. There are red Latvian swastikas in white roundels placed asymetrically on the wings and on the fuselage. A parrot was painted under the cockpit.

    Uppersurfaces in brown, green and ochre, undersurfaces in silver, Czechoslovak flags.
    Czechoslovakia, after 1926
    Khaki uppersurfaces, silver undersurfaces, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Czechoslovakia, after 1926
    Same as above, different registration code and regimental insignia.
    Staff-captain Malkovsky, 1927-1930, Red Devil
    Overall red, Czechoslovak roundels, no registration code.

    310th (Czechoslovak) Squadron
    Standard RAF marking, Czechoslovak roundels under the cockpit, registration NN-N. This machine can be seen in the Kbely Aviation Museum in Prague. A spitfire with this registration was flown by S/Ldr Otto Smik, the highest scoring Slovak pilot in the RAF.
    Czechoslovakia, 1945
    Standard RAF colours, Czechoslovak roundels on the wings, flags on the fin, squadron symbols on the sides of the nose. Various registration codes and squadron symbols provided for this version.
    Czechoslovakia, after 1945
    Standard RAF colours, Czechoslovak roundels, squadron symbols on the sides of the nose, new registration codes. Various registration codes and squadron symbols provided for this version.
    Czechoslovak Police Force
    Standard RAF colours with red nose and leading edges (the entire engine cover is red, actually). Small Czechoslovak roundels on the fin, and registration codes on both wing surfaces and the fuselage. I would expect convex triangles on the fin, and it is also included in the decal sheet, but the instructions say roundels.

    Czechoslovakia, 1930's
    Khaki uppersurfaces, silver undersurfaces, Czechoslovak roundels.
    Spanish Republican
    Dark green uppersurfaces, light blue undersurfaces, red identification stripes on the fuselage and wing tips, fin in red, yellow and violet.

    Czechoslovakia 1930's, three versions
    Registration codes and regimental insignia for three different versions, all in standard upperside khaki, underside silver, and Czechoslovak roundels.

    Same colours as the Czechoslovak versions, national insignia replaced by early Slovak roundels.

    Dark green uppersurfaces, pale blue undersurfaces, yellow nose and underside wing tips, Slovak crosses in red, white, and blue.
    Slovakia, Training Squadron, Trencin Airfield, March 1942
    Same as above, but yellow nose replaced by a yellow identification stripe on the fuselage, and registration code removed.
