Back in 1994 a group of enthusiasts banded
together to form the
Australian Homebuilt Sailplane Association so
that people interested in building, flying,
designing or who just like talking about homebuilt sailplanes, can have
easy access to other
enthusiasts who are building or about to build a particular type of homebuilt
sailplane.
We offer:
- Building advice, technical information and advice
on where to obtain materials for your project.
- A quarterly newsletter to help keep everybody up to date with other builder's
progress or their problems, building tips,
general interest articles, classified adds for members
who wish to sell, buy or hire and a mini "soaring calendar" as
the need comes along.
- We run small, friendly "regattas" that members can bring their sailplanes to.
- There are short cross country events, spot landings,
etc. as well as a "concourse d'elegance" trophy for the
best sailplane at the
meet.
The homebuilding fraternity in Australia
is growing at the moment and we believe that we can expand interest and
promote enthusiasm within and outside the gliding
movement.
