I have not made this website for my cousin Omar only for the sake of memorizing his great achievements, but also to express my love and admiration for this struggler who made his dream true, and to pray for him to rest in peace in heaven.

Passion to fly and determination to win .  .  .

Capt. Omar Bilal is a Jordanian pilot who was born in Amman of Circassian roots. His aspirations from his childhood was always to be a pilot. He loved the sky, the fighters, and the runway. He got used when he was a boy to watch the fighters in the sky near his home in Markah with his uncle who was a pilot as well. When Omar turned 17-years-old, he joined the Royal Air Force Academy and graduated as a fighter pilot. He joined the Air force in 1985 before he was selected to join the aerobaticic team of the Royal Jordanian Falcons in 1992.

Omar was a solo display pilot in the team, which is a risky type of aerobatic flying and requires sophisticated skills. Omar excelled in this field and helped in placing Jordan's name on the top by winning many international and European competitions. He dazzled the crowd in Europe by his outstanding performance in the aerobatic air-shows. Omar's pic

His awards included the International Championship Award in Belgium in 1994, UK National Aerobatic Championship Advanced & Unlimited in 1996, best solo display pilot in England's Big Thunder Air Show and best aerobatics pilot in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg in 1995 and again in 1996. He repeated his victories in England and Germany. He was respected by his peers all over the world.

May Omar rest in peace . . .

The tragic day was on 26th July 1997 during an international air-show in Ostenda, Belgium. Omar was performing acrobatic solo and he suddenly lost control of his plane (extra 300 single-engine)about five minutes into the maneuvers. The plane dived towards the ground and crashed into tent less than 100 meters from spectators (CNN Report). Omar was 30-years-old when he died. He was married but had no children ( the crash page.)

The body of late Omar was brought back from Belgium and was buried in the royal Cemetery in Amman, Jordan.
