Unlike most fractal/chaos web sites, this one does not require a high speed internet connection. However, because this site uses a lot of Java, most of it requires a good browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 or higher (3.01 will not work) or Netscape Navigator 3.0 or higher. (4.0 recommended)
Contents
IFS Fractal Applet -- This is a Java applet that can produce many beautiful IFS (iterated function system) fractals. It also has a few easy ways for you to invent your own.
Fractal Wallpaper --
If you like the background of this page, I have some fractal wallpapers in .bmp format available for download. They are a great way to make your Windows desktop look really cool!
Symmetric Icons -- This applet produces beautiful, chaotic, strange attractors. You can invent your own images. High (16-bit) or full (24-bit) color is recommended for this page. (Everything else on this site is designed to look great in 16 colors.)
Fractal Islands -- This applet randomly generates the coastline to an island and allows you to zoom in on the never ending detail.
Logistic Map -- This is one of the most interesting and famous discoveries in the math of Chaos. This gives a full explanation with many graphs produced by Java applets.
Newton's Fractal -- This applet produces beautiful fractals using Newton's method. It is not recommended for people with less than 16M RAM and you may want to close any other programs you have open, but it is worth it.
Strange Attractors -- This page shows the Lorenz and Henon attractors. You can adjust the parameters of the Lorenz attractor to watch the butterfly effect. The Henon attractor is a rare strange attractor.
Links -- There are many other fractal/chaos sites out there. If you know of any great fractal/chaos sites that I don't, you can add a link.
I am toying with more ideas for this page, so if you like this page, be sure to come back later and see what I have added. You can give suggestions for this page on my suggestion form.
