Phi Phi Island, Thailand, is truly Paradise. The beaches are white sand, with tides in Ton Sai Bay that are so dramatic they expose seemingly miles of sand during the day, and drown it all during the night. The island has palm trees and hut-like bars on the beaches, and is the most romantic place I have been to so far. It is completely secluded -- a two hour boat ride each way from Phuket, Thailand. There are no roads on Phi Phi, a few night clubs, and a few hotels. The best night club to go to is The Reggae Bar, but be forewarned -- there is no air conditioning, and the club is primarily outdoors!! It is well worth a visit, though!
The atmosphere on Phi Phi is a laid-back one. It is extremely relaxing, with tropical days and nights and the usual brief rain storm in the late afternoon.
I hope you enjoy the pictures of Koh Phi Phi below. They don't do the island justice, though!!

Some Islands in the Andaman Sea, en-route to Phuket, Thailand from Singapore.
We stayed in Phuket for one night, then took a boat to Phi Phi Lea the next morning. These are the bungalows in Phuket, and there's a picture of my friend Kevin.
These are pictures of Phi Phi Lea, the smaller of the two Phi Phi Islands. Phi Phi Lea is uninhabited. Sea Swallows live inside the island, though, and their nests are harvested for "Bird Nest Soup" - a delicacy. The following pictures show the inside of the island, where Thai people climb up on scaffolding made of sticks and branches to collect the nests.
Then our boat continued to Phi Phi Don, the larger of the two islands, which is where we stayed. Once the boat arrived at the dock, I got a glimpse of just how CLEAR the water is, and how many beautiful fish are in it!
Again, we stayed in bungalows right off the beach. The first day there, we got some sun and I got some footage of just how much the tide goes out! Look at those boats!
While we stayed on Phi Phi Island, we got Open Water SCUBA certified. After we completed the final day, we celebrated at the Reggae Bar that night. I had, um, a little too much to drink...and paid dearly! These pictures were taken the next day at the bakery where we ate breakfast. Coincidentally, our dive instructor Barrat was there, too, as was one of the hundreds of cats that live on the island!
Sadly, the vacation was over. We had to leave. These are the last few images of Ton Sai Bay I have as our boat left the island.
