The January 1999 meeting of the MCRCC will be held on Wednesday the 13^th at 7:00 PM in the Cook, Inc. building located at 925 So Curry Pike.

GENERAL:Attendance at last months gathering was the best ever. 50+ members and their families gathered together to enjoy good food and conversation. The down side to all of this was that we were seated out in the open and the service was to say the least - crappy. The up side (if you need to find one out of the experience) was that Damons paid for the hors d'ouvres themselves.

Bruce Hoffman provided the entertainment this year by conducting a 'Name That Plane' contest. We all thought that since Bruce was not a participant that some of the rest of us would have a chance to win this year, this was not the case however as Tom Osborne, the other airplane nut, walked away with all the goodies. It has been brought to my attention that we need to find another place to have our dinner (thanks for pointing out the obvious). If any of you have any ideas please feel free to bring them to our attention at the next club meeting.

The New Years Day Glide Slide was held despite the freezing temps. 11 brave souls signed up to battle the freezing conditions. Brent Hoover as usual put on a great show. Mary Drake let Dan carry the chili and a fine job he did! Many thanks to Mary for the great grub and to Dan for driving her to the site.

A special thanks goes to Dave Poland who worked all day long shagging the tow lines and also logging the days last flight with my glider and becoming the newest receipiant of the the prestigeous Dork Award. There were witnesses Dave!! For those of you that don't know Dave will fly anyone's airplane..

Note from the President

Thank you to all members and families, for having the best turn out at a club christmas party in a long time. I want to thank Leslie Hodges for helping me make the phone calls to the members, to invite them to the christmas party. Thank you to Tom Osborne for the gift and awards presentations and to Bruce Hoffman for having a great entertaining contest. Congratulations to Bob Watson on receiving the member of the year award. John and Phyllis Naylor our landlords and to Carl and Beth Peterson our new neighbors attended. All appeared to have good time. Thanks to all for tolerating the inadequate service we received at the restaurant. Brent Hoover made the reservations in November for our christmas party at Damons. Damons was at fault for the messed up reservations and slow service. The management apologized for the mistakes they made. Damons management made consseions to the club by giving us the appetizers at no charge.
