GENERAL:July Meeting...
There were 13 people in attendance at the June meeting. The meeting got underway at 7:03:09 . There was one visitor present who was voted into the club. Please welcome Art Cohee of Bloomington when you see him at the field. He's training with a Goldburg Eagle 2 ARF. The meeting was closed in record time at 7:30 so everybody could watch the Indiana Pacers play-off game on TV at 8:00.
More Grass & Dust...
Our good friend & neighbor Mr. Peterson cut the tall grass at the field for us. Please tell him thanks when you see him and don't forget to help support his effort to get Wylie Road tarred & feathered by calling the Monroe County Highway Department at 812-825- 5355. Ask for John Chambers & tell him how dusty it is out there.
2000 Picnic...
The date has been chosen for the Monroe County R/C Club's Annual Picnic. Keep your calendar open for Sunday, October 1. Bring airplanes & a covered dish. The club will take care of the rest. There should be plenty of flying all day with a break for food around noon or 1:00. Stay tuned for more details next month.
Airplanes at the Morgan County Fair...
Several members of the Monroe County R/C Club are from Morgan County. This year we have been asked to fill a booth in the Merchant's Tent at the Morgan County Fair with R/C aircraft & information for one day. If you would be available to help man the booth or bring something to display, contact Bob (RG) Shireman at 765-342-0480 or e-mail him at shireman@scican.net. Our day at the fair is Saturday July 29. The Morgan County Fairgrounds are near the intersection of SR 37 & 252 in Martinsville. The entrance is near the hospital. Just turn right (West) on 252 from 37 North. It's the third light from the South or the second light from the North. Hope to see you at the Morgan County Fair!
Miscellaneous Info...An event calendar can be accessed from the clubs Website. Please follow the link on the main page to get there. Anyone can use this Calendar and make a posting to a message board. The only requirement is that you join the Yahoo Groups and become a registered user. Its FREE and no personal information need be provided if you do not want it made public.
The message board is a GREAT place to post items you have for sale and make some general announcements.
There is also a photo album section there. Anyone can post a photo of what ever subject (model airplane club related please) they want! We have made several albums for you to add your photo... or you can make your own!
Please try to keep photos limited to 50k or less. We have only 5 meg of space available to post photos and it'll go fast. If you have pictures that you would like to post, please e-mail them to Lou and he'll get them posted on the main website.
If anyone would like to buy a Club shirt or hat please drop Bruce a line. The shirts sell for $21.50 and the hats are $9.00.
